We love to have a sensory morning when it’s cold outside. We get out the silver foil blanket and light up toys with sensory blocks and make a little den that we can watch all the lights reflect off the blanket whilst feeling the different textures of the toys. Ideal for little babies senses on a cold and dark morning!

Our favourite winter activity is to spend time at home together playing with toys and games from Christmas.

We love going swimming! It doesn't matter how bad the weather is, its so lovely and warm in the pool. My baby loves lessons, with lots of singing and learning safety techniques, all from 6 weeks old! We also get a great bonding experience every week! He even loves going under water!

i like playing games and reading books with my little one during the winter and of course cannot go without hot chocolate for myself and little treats for my baby appropriate to the age!

Cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie. Normally, about half way through, my little one falls asleep on me. He snuggles into my side and I really treasure these moments

As most days it's too cold to go out for walks, my LO, who just turned 6 months old, absolutely enjoys just cuddling in bed with unlimited breastmilk by the tap. 😆😆😆

My favourite past time with my little one, is going for a nice walk hand in hand, getting home to get warm and snuggly. Followed by painting our handprints to remember our day. Followed by a nice warm drink together, and a choccy biscuit or two!

We love walking and looking at the various animals, cats dogs foxes around and my 2 year old also loves waving to the buses down the road. He likes it when the drivers even wave back to him. Then we play some ballgames inside and his fave toy the excavator

We love heading out for a walk all wrapped up warm and then coming back and warming up with cuddles and stories. On really wet days we love getting out the tuff tray and doing all sorts of sensory activities. This week's hit was rice play with hidden coins for Chinese New year

In winters Me and my little one love going for walks, having warm baths, colouring lots of papers and playing hide and seek in the house or our garden.

We love to turn on some music - a mixture of nursery rhymes and my faves too, we both love to dance around the living room doing actions to the songs or just free-styling!
When we are feeling a little less energetic we stand looking out of the front window and love to wave at the cars and busses as they drive past!

Reading is our main indoor acticity. All of our 3 small children are so keen on me reading them various children's books. The moment I take a book in my hand they all gather around and wait quietly and super interested. My little girl is very affectionate, so we do lots of cuddling and kissing, too.

We wrap up warm and head for the zoo as my little boy is obsessed with animals. It's important to support animal parks all year round too.

Being_a_mama Verified 05/02/2022 - 22:23

Since my little boy started walking, he needs some outside time once a day.

I think make sure you have good clothes, layers, thermals and waterproofs, and you can spend even 10 minutes outside each day.

If we don't go for a walk, we'll go outside and play in the garden. I make up natural colour washes that go into his old baby bottles and spray bottles and let him create artwork on the patio, since it will just wash away and we can start again another day.

Nothing beats wrapping up for a winter walk and a trip to the park. With four little ones, sometimes getting out of the house is a challenging in itself, but once we're at our destination, the children are then able to run off some energy and get some much needed fresh air.
We're then back home in the warm, with our cosy blankets and soft toys, ready for snacks and our favourite movies. (One of our favourite days)

@Beckycowell83: Can we join? 😍

We love wrapping up warm & going for big walks in the fresh air, Jamie loves stopping at the park for a play & the parks are so much quieter than in Summer which makes mummy happy too :-)

DavidA Verified 07/02/2022 - 12:32

A walk in the fresh air with our little one all wrapped up snug as a bug in the buggy

Jimary Verified 07/02/2022 - 12:47

I love pampers.

Rosie1997 Verified 07/02/2022 - 14:48

Frosty days are the best for our regular walk over the nearby farmers field!
Spotting wildlife, stomping on icy puddles, watching our breathes and collecting sticks&stones to create a warming bonfire picture! Getting messy with glue and paint🤭 Followed by a hearty roast dinner.😍 Then a splash in the tub, pjs on infront of the TV for family films, hot chocolate and naughty snacks!🥰

BEARLIFE Verified 07/02/2022 - 15:00

We love crisp winter walks! We love exploring Mother Nature and our hometown! Popping down to our local farm, to feed the sheep is a must! Then heading along to the cafe for a yummy hot chocolate to warm up with!
