Since it’s international midwives day today i want to say a very special thank you to all the midwives at Bracken birthing centre especially Pip who helped me deliver my gorgeous Brooke and made me laugh all the way through my labour even when I thought I was going to give birth on the toilet and she said don’t because it’s too much paperwork ? #thankyoumidwife @PampersUKIre

My #thankyoumidwife experience. On December 18th 2016 i updated my Facebook status to say I was sick of being pregnant and I had had enough of feeling so crappy. Little did I know I was about to be relieved of duty just few hours later. I felt unwell and rung delivery suite for advice. I was told to pop in for monitoring and they would see me shortly. Just after midnight, were getting ready to be discharged and our lovely midwife was finishing her shift too, as I sat down on the bed something went POP! the next 5 hours went by in a painful blur of contractions and gas and air, being poked and prodded then whisked off to theatre to meet my babies. Our midwife stayed by our side throughout, from taking Daddy to see isabelle in NiCU right up until Sophia and I went to the ward at 9.30am. She was there as a constant support despite having finished her shift more than 9 hours earlier. She is an absolute star and I couldn't have managed without her being there, letting me sob into her shoulder when I was contracting at the same time they were trying to get my spinal block in, helping Darren to get ready and prepared with stuff for theatre and keeping the whole experience so calm and positive. I salute you and couldn't ever thank you enough xx Pampers #thankyoumidwife
