For the big kids there’s only one thing for it, mummy’s magic hot chocolate with marshmallows, squirty cream and chocolate sprinkles 😊 For the little ones a nice bottle of warm milk snuggled up in fluffy blankets for mummy and daddy cuddles 🥰

We make fake indoor snow using cornflower, bicarbonate of soda and water! Our little girl loves it! And then we provide cookie cutters to make snow shapes. Great for sensory play and exploring new textures. To make your own ...

You will need
Tray or bowl
Cornflour
Bicarbonate of soda
Water

Method

1. In a bowl, mix together equal quantities of cornflour and bicarbonate of soda. With this simple 1:1 ratio, you’ll be able to make as much or as little fake snow as you like. We started with 250g cornflour and 250g bicarbonate of soda.

2. Once combined, gradually introduce a very small amount of water into the bowl and mix together with your hands. Add a little more water – just a few drops at a time – until you reach a good consistency.

3. Stop adding water when the mixture starts to hold its own shape, but crumbles when pressed (like snow). We used just 1½ tbsp water in total for the amounts above.

4. Now you’re ready to play!

On wintry days, we like to wrap up warm and head to the park or outside for a jolly walk. My 3 1/2 year old and 10 month old love the swings. We love puddle jumping like Peppa Pig.
If it’s a bit too wet we like to stay inside in the warmth and get the Play-Doh out or our new favourite are ‘squishy‘s’ which you mould into anything you like, they then dry soft but bendy and hold the shape and design you made.
My daughter who is 3 1/2 and I love baking together and can usually be found baking banana muffins or gingerbread men.
We also just love the kind of wintry day where we snuggle under a duvet on the sofa and watch frozen.

On cold winter days we like to get wrapped up in our pram and go for a walk to the park! We take our big brother with us and he makes us laugh doing silly things along the way. We have a little go on the swings (if the seats not too wet) then head to our local playgroup where we have fun playing with our friends and different toys to what we have at home 🤗 we have just bought a sledge so fingers crossed for some snow soon 🤞🏼

We love snuggling up with our feet up, pampers nappie on, hot coco and milk in on hand all wrapped up in a warm cosy blanket watching cartoons and eating yummy snacks on cold wintery days.

Recently me and Ruby have been taking walks round the park while taking our favourite doggy (my Nan’s dog Poppy) for a walk ❤️ Tested Ruby out on the swings for the first time but she wasn’t overly keen. Maybe when she’s a bit older x

We love to have a sensory morning when it’s cold outside. We get out the silver foil blanket and light up toys with sensory blocks and make a little den that we can watch all the lights reflect off the blanket whilst feeling the different textures of the toys. Ideal for little babies senses on a cold and dark morning!

We love going swimming! It doesn't matter how bad the weather is, its so lovely and warm in the pool. My baby loves lessons, with lots of singing and learning safety techniques, all from 6 weeks old! We also get a great bonding experience every week! He even loves going under water!

i like playing games and reading books with my little one during the winter and of course cannot go without hot chocolate for myself and little treats for my baby appropriate to the age!

WolfCubMumma • 01/02/2022 - 14:46

Cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie. Normally, about half way through, my little one falls asleep on me. He snuggles into my side and I really treasure these moments

As most days it's too cold to go out for walks, my LO, who just turned 6 months old, absolutely enjoys just cuddling in bed with unlimited breastmilk by the tap. 😆😆😆

My favourite past time with my little one, is going for a nice walk hand in hand, getting home to get warm and snuggly. Followed by painting our handprints to remember our day. Followed by a nice warm drink together, and a choccy biscuit or two!

Esther_wil Verified 02/02/2022 - 07:29

We love heading out for a walk all wrapped up warm and then coming back and warming up with cuddles and stories. On really wet days we love getting out the tuff tray and doing all sorts of sensory activities. This week's hit was rice play with hidden coins for Chinese New year

Amna786 • 02/02/2022 - 08:28

In winters Me and my little one love going for walks, having warm baths, colouring lots of papers and playing hide and seek in the house or our garden.

Nicky_T Verified 02/02/2022 - 21:50

We love to turn on some music - a mixture of nursery rhymes and my faves too, we both love to dance around the living room doing actions to the songs or just free-styling!
When we are feeling a little less energetic we stand looking out of the front window and love to wave at the cars and busses as they drive past!

A walk in the fresh air with our little one all wrapped up snug as a bug in the buggy

Happycuddles Verified 07/02/2022 - 16:26

We love wrapping up warm then going for a walk and to the park! You can’t beat getting fresh air and having a change of scenery.

My little one was born in Dec 2021, she’s a sleepyhead. After breastfeeding, our favourite wintery pastimes is about every time nappies change because it’s time she’s wide awake, open her eyes and kicking. I love to kiss her and tell her I love her to the noon and back. Although nappy changing is a baby routine but it belongs to our lovely time.
